Hi! I’m Richard Forcey, and I’m the producer, video editor, and camera operator of Forcey Films. Video and content creation has been a passion of mine for the past few years, and I’m excited to help people tell their stories!
Background
My passion for video production started in middle school. I worked as a cameraman on our morning announcements. Although it was a small broadcast with ancient technology, I had a blast during my time there!
I continued to work on the morning announcements through high school, where I changed my job to the audio technician. Setting up the mics, queuing the DVDs, and muting/unmuting the talent showed me a whole new level of broadcasting! After I took my first video production class, I found my love for working with editing software.
When I arrived at West Chester University, I really starting pushing myself and learning even more about video production. With my internship at the Digital Media Center at West Chester University, I created and managed 6 different video projects while a full-time student. In addition, I assisted with countless other projects by recording b-roll, voice overs, or filling the role as a production assistant. I edited our weekly campus news, though not live, for over 100 episodes! In my final semester, I was promoted to Executive Producer. I continued to work in the live production role during our college’s commencement ceremonies. I was responsible for running the cameras at the event, and also setting up/tearing down the massive amount of gear required to live stream it.
These experiences led me to a career path as a freelance videographer. Since graduating, I’ve been enjoying growing my brand as a freelancer and meeting tons of new people!
